However, keep in mind that during the rainy season (May to November) you may encounter more frequent rainfall, so it is advisable to bring an umbrella or raincoat.
How to get there from San Jose:
If you are traveling from San José, the capital of Costa Rica, you have several options to get to Guanacaste. You can take a domestic flight to Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport, located in Liberia, the main city of Guanacaste. Another option is to take a direct bus from San Jose to Liberia, which takes approximately 4 hours.
Recommendations:
To fully enjoy Guanacaste, I recommend wearing light and fresh clothes, such as short-sleeved shirts, shorts and comfortable sandals. Don’t forget your bathing suit and sunscreen, as the sun can be quite intense. Also, I suggest you try the delicious local gastronomy, such as gallo pinto (rice and beans), seafood ceviche and casados (typical Costa Rican dish).
