Arenal Volcano

With a height of 1970 meters above sea level, this volcano of at least 7000 years old is one of the most active and visited in Costa Rica, with a beautiful lake that surrounds it, where you can kayak or take a boat tour to enjoy the breathtaking views of it. Near the volcano you can do activities such as: Canopy, hiking, walking through the treetops and be in perfect contact with nature through the hanging bridges. This wonder is located in the district of La Fortuna, province of Alajuela.

Monteverde

Home to one of the rarest habitats to be found on earth, the cloud forest, this natural jewel has an amazing variety of flora and fauna and 10% of the latter is endemic. This magical place occupies 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity, undoubtedly a paradise for bird lovers, with more than 500 species, there are also pumas, monkeys and jaguars in danger of extinction, as well as the red-eyed tree frog that serves as an icon of Costa Rica.

Guanacaste

Guanacaste is the most northwestern province of Costa Rica. One of its main characteristics is that, despite being the second largest region of Costa Rica, it is the most unpopulated. In its extensive 10,140 km² of surface only 326,953 people live. San José, Ciudad Capital

San José es la provincia más poblada del país. Ubicada en la Meseta Central, se extiende hacia el noreste, atravesando las impresionantes montañas de la Cordillera Central, que incluyen parques nacionales, reservas forestales y tierras fértiles donde abundan las plantaciones de café.

Emplazada en el Valle Central. Es una extensa planicie custodiada por majestuosos volcanes y verdes cerros que confirman la riqueza natural que existe en todo el territorio nacional. Con una altura de 1,150 metros sobre el nivel del mar, goza de una temperatura promedio de 24ºC. Siendo una ciudad relativamente pequeña, cuenta con una gran cantidad de atractivos culturales y educativos, con impresionantes museos y amplia variedad de gastronomía.

Puerto Viejo, South Caribbean

The South Caribbean extends from the city of Limón to the Sixaola River, in the border area with Panama. It is characterized by the exotic beauty of its beaches and its Afro-Caribbean and Rasta cultures.

One of its natural features is the tropical rainforest, where you can enjoy permanent humidity and warm weather. These characteristics are most noticeable in its main communities of Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Gandoca where, in addition, there is a unique blend of beautiful beaches, tropical forest and Afro-Caribbean culture.

It also has a wide diversity of protected areas among which are the Cahuita National Park, Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, Hito and Cerere Biological Reserve and several indigenous communities.

Tortuguero, North Caribbean

Known as the Amazon of Costa Rica, this exuberant National Park of imposing tropical jungle, virgin nature and scenic navigable canals is home to a great variety of marine and terrestrial fauna, including turtles, manatees, jaguar, crocodile, pizote among others, it is also a sanctuary for green turtles who like the Baulas and Carey come to its shores to lay their eggs.

Rincon de La Vieja Volcano

Located in the province of Guanacaste, this National Park has a waterfall and streams, a fresh water lagoon, volcanic hot springs, diversity of fauna and flora, all around the volcano with the same name. Rincon de la Vieja Volcano is considered one of the most fascinating volcanoes due to its special characteristics. Sulfurous lagoons and volcanic mud pools.

Nicoya Peninsula
