En route to Arenal Volcano, we will stop in the famous town of Sarchi, known as the birthplace of Costa Rica’s artisans. In Sarchi, you will be able to appreciate many of the handicrafts and souvenirs that Costa Rica has to offer.
Then the trip will continue through various plantations with agricultural products, including pineapple and banana farms, mangoes, ornamental plants and even cattle ranches until reaching the small town of La Fortuna, and stopping to enjoy lunch in a cozy restaurant with a magnificent view of the volcano.

We will visit Doka Coffee Estate where we will enjoy a coffee tour in a real coffee plantation where we will learn the ancient techniques used by experts to produce some of the best coffees in Costa Rica and the world. The careful process involved in growing, harvesting and roasting will be illustrated in a very practical way, and then we will taste the delicious product.
After the coffee tour, we will continue to Poas Volcano National Park, where there is a remarkable change in temperature and lush cloud forest vegetation.
Poas Volcano is an active stratovolcano of 2,708 meters (8,885 feet). The volcano’s crater is over a mile wide and 1050 feet deep. It has erupted 40 times since 1828, including April 2017.
After Poás, we will continue to La Paz Waterfall Garden, where we will enjoy lunch.
At La Paz Waterfall Gardens we will pass through walking trails surrounded by lush rainforest. Here we will appreciate flowing white rivers, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies, monkeys and hummingbirds. There are also educational animal exhibits to enjoy, such as the aviary, butterfly observatory, hummingbird garden, serpentarium, jungle cat exhibit and frog exhibit. This is definitely a tour that nature lovers of all ages will enjoy.

We will then continue to Grecia, a very typical and traditional town, where we will admire the metal church, a building that has a rare architecture, with high ceilings, ornate stained glass windows and classic lines.

In Sarchi, you will appreciate many of the handicrafts and souvenirs that Costa Rica has to offer, visit a factory and a souvenir store run by local artists. You will also see the largest ox cart in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records.
